Kshamaapan!!

Kshamaapan!!

It means forgiveness...

Now, what does that mean?

Forgiveness is to let go off... But that doesn't happen just like that. People forgive, only after accepting that one has made a mistake, make him feel that he has made a mistake, and if possible make him ask for forgiveness before actually forgiving him. This is almost like giving a second chance, but actually not. As forgiving itself is for giving a second chance. But what happens is that, we don't give a second chance out of understanding the person, but to make ourselves feel on top.

How and when can we forgive someone? Forgiving is in one way synonymous to trust. This is the beauty of it.
The very moment you forgive someone, it means that you trust him, and when the other person realises that he has been forgiven based on the trust, he fears to do the same mistake again, that is why, forgiving is a very difficult trait that can be owned by anyone. Since this is not how people are forgiven in general, the very value of it is degraded to such an extent that it has been given a very little value.

So ultimately if there is no trust , there isn't any forgiving...

My idol, the intellectual film-maker, Padmasri Kamal Hassan quoted in one of his movies, that forgiving is humane, to ask for forgiveness is Godly... But again, this is true only if the value of forgiveness is understood, and is it this way that we ask for forgiveness when we make a mistake? No! And in what context do we ask for forgiveness? To escape the situation, out of fear of being punished, etc. So where is the trust coming in to picture, and how can it be accepted. This is why it doesn't happen easily.

So forgiveness has no value if there isn't a pinch of trust put in it, from both ends, the giver and the receiver...

So I say, Kshmaapan = TRUST!!!
